Reiki is a spiritual practice of healing. You can delve into the components of the system and the levels of training, as well as the traditional and non-traditional sacred symbols used in Reiki practice.

What Is Reiki?

The Reiki system of healing uses universal life force energy. Reiki originated in Japan, although one of the two branches is called Western Reiki. Both forms include the same basic features, including those in the following list:

• Safe: No one can do any harm with the Reiki energy.

• Intelligent: The energy knows where to go and what to do to help you.

• Natural: No other tools or instruments are needed besides the Reiki practitioner, who channels the Reiki energy through his hands.

• Gentle: The practitioner places her hands softly on the body or just above the body. Practitioners don’t use massage or manipulation.

• Simple to learn: You can learn Reiki in three classes: first degree, second degree, and third degree (Master level) classes.

• Lifelong: After you are attuned to the Reiki energy by studying one of the three degrees of Reiki, you have the ability to channel Reiki for life.

• Compatible with all religions or belief systems: You can receive or practice Reiki no matter what your religion. People of all faiths use Reiki as a system for relaxation and healing.

Components of the Reiki Healing System

Reiki contains five central elements that the practitioner uses to prepare to channel Reiki energy and heal themselves and others. Go through this list when preparing to give or receive Reiki:

• Attunements (initiations): Within a context of Reiki training, you are put “in tune” with the Reiki energy so that you have the life-long ability to channel the energy.

• Hand positions: Use a set of positions to know where to place your hands during a Reiki session.

  • Self-Reiki hand positions: Use these positions to treat yourself with Reiki.

  • Treating others hand positions: Use these positions to treat other people with Reiki.

• Meditation and focusing: Connect with the source of Reiki universal energy and concentrate the Reiki healing energy within yourself.

• Symbols: Use the Reiki symbols and the sound of their name as a mantra to connect with Reiki energy.

• Reiki Principles: The five principles of Reiki are used as the basis of a daily meditation practice.

The Three Levels of Reiki Training

Reiki is easy to learn, with only three levels of training to reach the level of Master. The following list decribes the three levels of Reiki training. Keep these in mind when training or when looking for a Reiki practitioner:

• 1st degree: Also called Reiki I or Shoden in Japanese. This is entry-level Reiki training where you study Reiki history, learn how to perform self-Reiki, and how to give Reiki to someone else, and are initiated (attuned) for life to the Reiki energy.

• 2nd degree: Also called Reiki II or Okuden in Japanese. You learn how to use the first three Reiki symbols and how to perform distant Reiki techniques. You receive further attunements to the Reiki energy. After this class, you are considered a Reiki practitioner.

• 3rd degree: Also called Reiki III or Shinpiden in Japanese. This is the Master Teacher level of Reiki, and the class may be separated into two parts. You receive the Master Reiki attunement and learn the Master Reiki symbol and how to give the Reiki attunements to others.

The sacred Reiki symbols can help clarify your personal meditation and may also help you channel the healing energy Reiki is all about. The sacred Reiki symbols and the realms they affect are shown in the following list:

Non-traditional Reiki Symbols

Some of the symbols Reiki practitioners use do not directly derive from Mikao Usui’s original teachings. If you want to delve further into their use, find a Reiki teacher who can initiate (give attunements) to the non-traditional Reiki symbols in the following list:

The Benefits of Singing
Harmonizing with the Universe

The act of singing is one of the easiest ways of raising the vibration of your body as you harmonize with the universe.

Singing is an act of vibration. It takes music from the realm of the unformed– whether that is in your mind or from that magical space of inspiration–and moves it from within to without. From the first breath singing moves the energy in a circular way inside your body. As the breath fills your lungs, it brushes against the second and third chakras—the centers of creation and honoring self and others. Instead of merely exhaling, pushing the air past the fourth and fifth chakras where heart chakra and the center of will and intention reside, singing engages both the heart and mind. Sound vibrations from vocal chords resonate in the sinus cavities, filling the head with motion and sound while the brain lights up with the processing of the mathematics of music. This marriage of activities brings the third eye into play and opens the door for inspiration from the crown chakra before sending the sound out into the world.

Once the vibration begins, it is sustained with each note, moving throughout your body and the space around you. This can help you to harmonize your frequency with the world and with the divine. The use of the voice can bring about catharsis, a cleansing from the expression of emotion, which is why we feel better after singing certain types of songs. All of this occurs even if we are not conscious of what we are singing, but when we really connect with an intention, the power of the voice and music together are powerful tools in creation.

Even if you are not a singer by nature or talent, you are not left out. If you have a voice, it is your birthright to celebrate life with song. It doesn’t matter if you don’t feel you have a nice voice. Chanting or humming, singing solo or with others, your voice is yours to enjoy. Whether you sing along to the radio or use vocalization as part of your meditation time, singing and harmonizing are healing activities that bring your body’s vibrations into alignment with the universe.

The Deliberate Creator’s Declaration of Independence

When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary to dissolve the Mental, Emotional, Physical and Energetic bonds which have connected one person to another, and to assume among the powers of the Earth, the separate and equal privileges to which the laws of the Universe entitle them, their own self-respect requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all Deliberate Creators are created equal. That they are endowed by their Creative Source with certain unalienable rights and that among these are life, liberty, abundance, joy and the pursuit of happiness.

To secure these rights, certain thoughts, beliefs and ideologies have been instituted among men and women, deriving their just powers from the consent of the people. And whenever any of these thoughts, beliefs or ideologies becomes destructive to these unalienable rights, it is the responsibility of Deliberate Creators to alter or abolish them, and to institute new ones, laying their foundation on such principles and organizing their powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to empower their natural states of abundance, joy and love.

Prudence, indeed, will dictate that beliefs long established should not be changed for light and transient causes. But experience has shown that individuals are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the beliefs to which they are accustomed. But when existing thoughts, beliefs and ideologies sabotage, subvert and ultimately destroy the will of Deliberate Creators, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such belief systems, and to create and embrace new beliefs that empower their strength, prosperity and evolution.

Such has been the patient sufferance of these Deliberate Creators; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former systems of thought, belief and ideology. The history of the existing Prevailing Belief System is a history of ongoing injury and usurpation, having in direct object the establishment of an absolute tyranny over these Deliberate Creators.

To prove this, let facts be submitted to a candid world.

• This belief system would have us base our actions on fear.
• This belief system holds that we lack personal power.
• This belief system affirms that we are unable to manifest our desires.
• This belief system defines the world as a dangerous place.
• This belief system alleges that scarcity and lack is our natural state.
• This belief system asserts that we are meant to struggle and suffer.
• This belief system avows that vulnerability, intimacy and trust are weaknesses.
• This belief system affirms that we are unworthy, undeserving and not good enough.

We, therefore, the representatives of the Deliberate Creators of the World, appealing to the Creative Source for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the name, and by the authority of all Deliberate Creators, solemnly publish and declare, that we are, and of right ought to be free and independent from the Prevailing Belief System; that we are absolved from all allegiance to those beliefs and that all Mental, Emotional, Physical and Energetic connections between us and the Prevailing Belief System, are and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as free and independent Deliberate Creators, we have full power to attract our desires, seek ever greater joy, engage in inspired action, bask in the limitless abundance of this Universe, and do all other things which true Deliberate Creators may of right do. And for the support of this declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of the Creative Source, we mutually pledge to each other our support, our encouragement and our sacred honor.

Dear Ones,

Those of you who exited your cocoon have rested, as well as sorted out feelings about your new being. Perhaps it was a relatively easy process of not feeling connected to much of anything. Or more direct in terms of exploring old feelings in new ways.

You are now moving into your next stage of learning – manifestation.

Even though you may revert to chanting, asking the Universes to grant you wishes or other 3D techniques, you do not need to, as you are now fully capable of creating/manifesting what you wish.

Do not fear if you are not certain what you wish to create for you are a new being with new thoughts and wishes. Perhaps your original wishes remain true. Perhaps they have shifted a bit. It does not matter for what you are now wishing for is part of your new being.

Some of you find the word ‘wish’ offensive for you believe you no longer have to wish. Even though such is true – you are fully capable of creating what you want – ‘wish’ continues to apply for most of you.

You are prepared to assume your role of creator – as a worthy part of the godhead, Universes or whatever term you prefer – and only you are stopping you from doing so. Of course, such a phrase makes you feel guilty, unworthy or unloved.

Then remember how many beliefs you have overcome to arrive at this point. Beliefs of your 3D world that you could not or should not do something. “Go ahead, try but it won’t work.” Or “Only the masters are capable of creating what they wish.” Or, “I’ve asked the Universes and nothing happens.”

All phrases, and so many more, that informed you through the eons that you cannot create, or that you are not good enough to do so.

You have removed those fears and now it is merely your 3D trained brain that encourages you to not believe in yourself. Like so many scientific experiments that introduce a reward with an attached punishment to the point that the humans or animals no longer attempt to obtain the reward even after the negative element/punishment is removed.

Such a thought is not to chastise you, but to allow you to know how far you have progressed. Barriers no longer exist for you or anyone who has exited their cocoon.

For eons, the manifestation barriers were self-induced: “I must hide my inner-power so I blend in with 3D earth fear.”  The big secret you had to maintain for eons was that you were powerless. The opposite is now true.

It is time for you to understand that all you have to do to escape your self-induced prison is to walk out the open door.

Perhaps you need to adjust to this new belief process. Start by noting your small manifestations – like the perfect parking space or a telephone call from a friend.

We stated something similar before and such did not happen for many of you. Do not fret. We noted your dilemma, your disbelief in yourself and have since created the energies you need to walk out your prison door.

Perhaps you are thinking that everyone will create financial abundance, or whatever is upper-most in your dream process. Such is not true. You will all create that which best aligns you with your role – whatever that role is.

Your dreams of outer-power melted with your transition from caterpillar to butterfly. That which you dream of now is yours.

You merely need to walk out your self-induced prison door.

Many of you will state to yourself what you want and if it does not appear within a week, will give up in frustration. Do not give up. Merely think of this process as learning a new skill.

Creation is an important part of your new earth tool kit.

How could you possibly create a new earth society if you depended on others – including Universal entities that are assisting you, but are not you – to fulfill your role? You cannot expect another entity to completely fulfill your dreams, anymore than others could move through your ‘dark night of the soul’.

This transition is indeed a personal – and inside job.

Just because another entity is not of earth at this time, does not mean they are wiser, better or more worthy than you. They are merely in another location.

This is a bit like adult children who do not dare leave home. You are no longer adult children being cared for by whatever entities you have depended on. It is time for you to leave home and create your own life – without your entity/parent assistance.

You are fully capable. But merely afraid to take responsibility for your being or that someone will punish you for being an “upstart.”

There is no punishment – only loud and joyful cheers of the Universes as you quickly began your new life on earth in this lifetime. You can do it! And your new being will push you to do so.

No more care taking or being taken care of. No more victimization – the cell door is open. Jump into your joyful life. You are a Universal adult with a new, full tool kit begging to be tested. So be it. Amen.
